Lesson Plans - Uncertainty in Measurement

Students will 3D print sets of pegs and holes. They will vary the dimensions of the pegs in order to find the width that fits perfectly in the complimentary hole. Students will examine the concept of uncertainty by observing the effect that uncertainty has on the manufacturing of physical objects. They will observe the variation between object's specified measurements indicated in manufacturing drawings and the object's actual measurements after manufacturing.
