Students are tasked with building a bridge to scale, applying the concepts and principles of design. Bridge joints are to be designed from scratch and developed from sketch to 3D model to 3D print. Straws will be used as the primary building material for the bridges because they are inexpensive and readily available. Students will test their bridge prototype to refine its design. Once the design is finalized, students will apply load tests to determine the structural integrity of their bridges.
