Students learn about customization, a value proposition that enables a business to turn a generic product, or base model, into a revenue stream with multiple fee structures. They are taught how to quickly modify a 3D base model and 3D print it as an end product for sale. Students use a 3D printer as a personal manufacturing tool and perform a simple cost calculation of the product they printed or “manufactured”!
