We are excited to begin a new partnership with the INNOVATE program with Argyll Centre and Edmonton Public Schools. Here is a brief over view of the program provided by INNOVATE:
The Innovate program is a hands on/project-based learning program that provides research and experimental opportunities to students who have great IDEAS and a desire to explore their interests.
- Apply schooling to potential career choice and work towards solving real world problems
- Develop a proposal (budget may be included) and portfolio to support resume
- Create your own learning experience and earn up to 15 high school credits (3 courses)
- Access resources and/or funding for project materials and connect with experts in your area of interest
*Note INNOVATE is offered to all Albertan high school students as extra-curricular learning. Argyll school report card is issued seperately from regular school the student attends and credits show on regular transcipts.
A few past projects from students include making their own 3d printers, giving public presentations on 3d printing materials as well as building equipment to recycle plastic from school cafeteria to make their own sustainably sourced 3d printing filament.
If you or someone you know is a Calgary student interested in joining the program to earn credits by doing a 3d printing project, please contact us today at firstname.lastname@example.org.
